Meet Sweet Pea! And that's just what she is - sweet. Sweet Pea is an 18 lb. elder pup, age 11, who would love to spend her golden years with a furever family. She recently pulled through tumor-removal surgery, and is recovering beautifully as she awaits adoption. Sweet Pea is house-trained and knows the command 'outside'. She is a fearless pup, and even in her old age, has not shown any aggression while in foster care. Sweet Pea has lived with both male and female dogs without issue, but she has not been tested with other sized dogs or cats. Like most of us as we get older, Sweet Pea enjoys her rest and personal space; so if her foster siblings get in her way, she will let them know. Don't let her age fool you though! She does have some spunk, and still enjoys running around in the yard. Sweet Pea, in her advanced age, does have a tendency to show and smack her teeth when she gets overwhelmed or too tired to play with her foster siblings. However, she has not bitten anyone or become aggressive. In fact, she loves the children (ages 6-12) in her foster home, and she will play and cuddle with them; other times, she is content to ignore them. Sweet Pea has not had any interactions with seniors while in foster care, but she has lived with seniors in the past. She loves to give kisses, snuggle with people and pets, play with other pets, and go on car rides. Her foster mom thinks she would do great in a home where someone appreciates her elder charm, and she would love some other pups to play with between naps and cuddle sessions. She probably would not do well in a home with children under 5, as she would not feel up to constant activity. To ask about Sweet Pea, send an e-mail to: contactbtrtoc@yahoo.com
