This beautiful sweet girl spent all of her life before rescue as a breeder dog. She is house trained and crate trained. She enjoys sneaking off to her crate for quiet time or a nap, too. She is beyond deserving of a family who will love her forever. She is a gentle spirit with a lifetime of love to make up. Can you love her enough? Her foster Mom says, "She is just a great girl. Despite living in a back yard as a breeder dog, she has the best temperament I have seen. She is a little bit shy, but once she trusts you, that goes away. Star would be great with an older couple who is home a lot, or a family with kids. I wouldn’t say she is extremely active. She likes walks on the leash, but she also likes to take naps. I think I’ve mentioned it, but she is just great! She is a special girl and I am so excited for the family that gets to call her theirs. She deserves to live a cushy life. She loves kids, people, and other dogs. She stays close when you take her outside. And she just loves a belly rub!" Are you her forever? The Adoption Application Process: 1. The first step of our adoption process to submit our adoption application online (at the bottom of this page). We require a $20 application fee which we will contact you about once we have received your application. You can pay your application fee here. This is a nonrefundable fee, so make sure you read through the requirements before you apply. 2. Once your fee is received we review your application and place a call to your veterinarian to make sure all past and current dogs have been well taken care of. 3. After your vet check we do a home visit where one of our volunteers comes to your home to meet and talk with you and your family. 4. Finally after your application has been fully processed, our Adoption Coordinator will contact you to let you know if your application has been approved. If so, we will begin talking about the dogs you are interested in. Approved adopters get to chat with foster parents about the dogs as well as set up meet and greets to meet the dog they are interested in. Foster dogs will not be considered for adoption placement until the home visit has been conducted and approved. The entire adoption process can take two to six weeks. Home visits that are outside of NC, or in VA, SC and GA cities where no BTRTOC volunteers reside may require additional coordination and time. The adoption fee for Star is $350. All dogs will receive a complete veterinary check-up, be micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested, and be current on vaccines prior to adoption.
