Meet Huey! Our little buddy is a 12 lb Chiweenie who is only 2 years old! Huey has recently come back to our rescue due to a lack of compatibility with his previous adopter’s lifestyle. He is great with other small dogs but can feel a bit uncomfortable and edgy around larger breeds, especially large males, so we ask that he stay in a small dog household. Although Huey is young, he is definitely an old man at heart. He prefers a quiet, calm environment, where he can snooze and relax (his two favorite hobbies). Like most old men, Huey would rather not be around young children and can get grumbly and cranky in an environment with a lot of noise and activity. However, he does well with older children that will respect his personal space and pretty much any adult who is down to cuddle and love on him. Due to his low energy level and small stature, we think he would be a great candidate for a variety of housing sizes. Huey’s personality definitely favors more of the “Chi” and less of the “weenie” so he would do best with someone who has experience with Chihuahuas and their endearing sass. He needs someone who isn’t afraid to take the role of the alpha, as he can have a bit of a “Napolean complex” and needs to be reminded who is 12 pounds and not in charge. Once you really get to know Huey, you’ll see that he’s actually just a big softy, who just wants his people and his peace. Once he’s got that, you’ve gained a very loving, loyal best friend. Huey has a clean bill of health, has been neutered, and is up to date on all of his shots. He also has great leash manners and is potty trained! If you are interested in applying to foster/adopt Huey, please reach out to us on Facebook or through our website at www.bostonterrierrescueteam.com . He is currently located in Florence, SC, and would love to have a meet and greet so you can see how loving and adorable he is.
