All 8lbs of little miss Egypt (or “Fiona” as we’ve started calling her) came to the rescue, skittish and hyperactively clingy. We guess she’s a 6-month-old Yorkie/Chihuahua mix (or “Chorkie”), perhaps with another terrier breed thrown in, but her foster mom pins her as more kitten/deer, as she loves to climb and jump up on everything and still retains her skittishness, even though she’s much calmer than when she was first picked up from the shelter (not to mention those perky deer ears!). She is fiercely loyal and protective of her foster mom, which usually means she wants to be cuddled with her at all times. For a puppy, she is surprisingly calm most of the day and makes the perfect lap dog! She’s just learning how to play with toys and has become a fan of the squeaker. Sometimes her small dog nature comes out as barking or growling at strangers or anyone that comes near her foster mom, but it can also be backed up with a wagging tail (or at worst, more shaking and clinging). She’s still working on becoming 100% house trained, but has made good progress. She would do best in a home where she would not be alone much and will need continued work on her separation anxiety and socialization. She hardly sheds (big plus!), is not a big chewer (has not shown too much interest in objects that aren’t her toys), and those big doe eyes will win anyone over!
