Sweet Pea is a beautiful 10 year old girl. Don't let her age fool you, she loves to play.

If Sweet Pea's foster parents could pick the perfect home for her they would want, " A single older person. Sweet Pea spent her entire life with her previous owner who was a single male. He passed away of cancer. She needs someone who can spend a lot of time with her. She’s smart and is eager to please. "

They also say that " Sweet Pea is perfectly named. She loves humans but can be a bit rough with small children. She is purebred with papers and though she’s 10, she acts more like a puppy. She has an entire basket of toys that come with her and she loves to play fetch. She also will sleep fine in a crate or loves to get under the covers with you."

The Adoption Application Process:

1. The first step of our adoption process to submit our adoption application online (at the bottom of this page). We require a $20 application fee which we will contact you about once we have received your application. You can pay your application fee here. This is a nonrefundable fee, so make sure you read through the requirements before you apply.

2. Once your fee is received we review your application and place a call to your veterinarian to make sure all past and current dogs have been well taken care of.

3. After your vet check we do a home visit where one of our volunteers comes to your home to meet and talk with you and your family. 

4. Finally after your application has been fully processed, our Adoption Coordinator will contact you to let you know if your application has been approved. If so, we will begin talking about the dogs you are interested in. Approved adopters get to chat with foster parents about the dogs as well as set up meet and greets to meet the dog they are interested in.

Foster dogs will not be considered for adoption placement until the home visit has been conducted and approved.  The entire adoption process can take two to six weeks.  Home visits that are outside of NC, or in VA, SC and GA cities where no BTRTOC volunteers reside may require additional coordination and time.  

Adoption fee for Sweet Pea is $200
