Boston Terrier (short coat) : : Male : : Small Learn more about the Boston Terrier.
Tucker is a beautiful five year old baby boy. He is a small 30 pound cutie. Tucker has had a rough go of it. He is a sweet, sweet boy but scares easily. He gets very vocal until he knows he is safe, which takes about 30 seconds. He is not recommended for homes with children or a lot of coming and going. He really needs a calm human to help with his anxiety. Tucker is absolutely a people pleaser and will follow his person step for step. He is a sweet boy who wants approval. He has blossomed in his foster home and wants nothing more than toys and his person to be happy. He is fine with other dogs but being an only dog wouldn't make him unhappy! :) He shows signs of abuse and needs a stable, patient person to spend his life with. He is an extraordinarily smart boy and wants nothing more than his people to be happy and tell him what a good boy he is. He loves strong toys for chewing. He doesn't chew on things he shouldn't. He will sleep soundly in his crate but he loves to cuddle in bed, too. He has not had an accident in the house and he has the cutest "zoomies" after he potties. Some absolute specifics: He may nip out of fear. Not always, but it has happened. He is not food aggressive. He can be toy aggressive. He is NOT a take me to a cafe to meet your friends dog. He does not want to meet new friends on the street. He wants to be home, hanging out with his person. He does NOT want to be alone for long periods of time. He does NOT do well on a leash. A yard would be easier for him and you. Cats are not his thing! He needs you. Are you his person? The Adoption Application Process: 1. The first step of our adoption process to submit our adoption application online (at the bottom of this page). We require a $20 application fee which we will contact you about once we have received your application. You can pay your application fee here. This is a nonrefundable fee, so make sure you read through the requirements before you apply. 2. Once your fee is received we review your application and place a call to your veterinarian to make sure all past and current dogs have been well taken care of. 3. After your vet check we do a home visit where one of our volunteers comes to your home to meet and talk with you and your family. 4. Finally after your application has been fully processed, our Adoption Coordinator will contact you to let you know if your application has been approved. If so, we will begin talking about the dogs you are interested in. Approved adopters get to chat with foster parents about the dogs as well as set up meet and greets to meet the dog they are interested in. Foster dogs will not be considered for adoption placement until the home visit has been conducted and approved. The entire adoption process can take two to six weeks. Home visits that are outside of NC, or in VA, SC and GA cities where no BTRTOC volunteers reside may require additional coordination and time. Our adoption fees are as follows: Purebred Boston Terriers All dogs will receive a complete veterinary check-up, be micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested, and be current on vaccines prior to adoption.
